This blended ProTrainings First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (FAW) for high-risk environments is perfect for businesses that have identified a need for a fully trained first aider in their workplace, particularly those at high risk for severe bleeding incidents. This course includes specialised training in the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings.
This certification is recognised by the SIA for individuals seeking employment in door supervision and security guard roles.
All courses are delivered, assessed, and quality assured in line with the latest guidelines from the HSE and comply with the requirements of the First Aid at Work regulations 1981.
Our first aid courses fully align with the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines, meeting HSE requirements. ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are also officially recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications.
The course consists of at least 18 contact hours, spread across a minimum of 2 days. It includes prerequisite online video e-learning, and the certification is valid for 3 years. To renew, participants must attend a 12-contact hour, 2-day FAW requalification course.
Since May 2016, the HSE and Awarding Organisations have allowed computer-based blended training for all workplace first aid courses. Now, you can complete your qualification through two days of classroom training after finishing the online portion. This blended approach reduces both training and travel costs while offering the flexibility to learn at your own pace, with one-on-one support from your instructor.
This blended FAW course meets all HSE and Awarding Organisation requirements and is available as either a ProTrainings or Regulated Qualification.
ProTrainings offers a modern, flexible training approach with years of experience delivering online, blended, and classroom-based courses. By choosing ProTrainings, you can reduce costs without compromising on the quality of your training.
Upon completion, candidates receive access to our video library for skill refreshers and ongoing reference.
The HSE recommends that all first aiders complete an annual refresher course, and our online course meets this recommendation.
Please note that learners can opt to take a regulated qualification during their ProTrainings course. The ProTrainings First Aid at Work Qualification is accepted by TQUK for first aid instructors wishing to offer regulated qualifications, as it meets all required learning outcomes and due diligence standards.
Finally, the classroom course has a minimum age requirement of 14.
All of our courses, including this one, are independently certified to meet Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement, as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and, for online courses, an Evidence-Based Learning Statement.
