More about this course
This option constitutes the first part of the complete 6-hour Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification. To finish this part 1 course, it's imperative to arrange booking of part 2 directly with the company or instructor. If not already done, you will need to locate your nearest instructor via www.procourses.co.uk. Please be aware that this may result in an additional fee directly payable to the instructor (purchasing the online part 1 and then paying for the classroom part 2).
The ProTrainings Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (EFAW) is suitable for most businesses where the risk assessment indicates no requirement for a fully trained first aider in their workplace. All courses adhere to the guidelines established by the HSE in October 2017 and fulfill the criteria of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981, including subsequent 2017 changes. This course incorporates the latest CPR and Coronavirus recommendations and fully aligns with the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021, meeting HSE requirements. ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are recognized by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications.
The course must consist of at least 6 contact hours, conducted over a minimum of 1 day, and the certificate remains valid for 3 years. Since May 2016, computer-based blended training has been permitted for all workplace first aid courses. You now have the choice to complete your Emergency First Aid at Work course as a blended course, comprising 3 hours of online training followed by 3 hours in the classroom. This blended EFAW course fulfills all HSE and Awarding Organisations' requirements and is available as a ProTrainings or Regulated Qualification.
To renew, you must attend another EFAW 6-hour course or blended course, or participate in an annual first aid refresher course in the classroom. The HSE strongly recommends that all first aiders undergo an annual first aid refresher course, and our online course satisfies this requirement. Note that learners undertaking a ProTrainings Training Course can opt for a regulated qualification.
Please note that the minimum age requirement for the classroom course is 14. This qualification, along with most other ProTrainings qualifications, is endorsed by TQUK to demonstrate our commitment to higher levels of compliance and quality assurance.
Companies, organisations, or agencies are encouraged to contact us for group discounts and information on onsite training, as well as how our system can be utilised to track and monitor staff training.
This course comes with 3.0 hrs (6.0 class) of CPD, although the time to complete the course online may be less than this. Total course time includes 2 hours and 26 minutes of video training as well as knowledge reviews, final test, remedial help and reviewing downloaded material.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
