ProTrainings Online Care Certificate Course Now Live

We have launched our new Care Certificate online course to meet the new standards.  The course is all video based online training covering the required 15 standards. The Care Certificate has launched 1st April 2015

As of 1 April 2015, all social care support workers will be expected to attain a Care Certificate within their first 12 weeks of employment. The Care Certificate sets out the basic skills, knowledge and behaviours that are required to give safe, effective and compassionate care.   There are over 1.3 million healthcare assistants and social care support workers working in England. They play a vital role providing people with some of the most personal and fundamental support – eating, washing, dressing, help getting out of bed or going to the toilet.

Thyroid cancer scans by a dog in the USA

Dogs have been used for many health and assistance jobs over the years and a dog in the USA has proved to be able to detect Thyroid Caner.  In recent tests a dog tested 34 patients and showed a 88 percent success rate in finding tumours.  As dogs have a much better sense of smell they can be trained to pick up the slight smell given off by cells and then indicate when they find them.
