Diabetics could be at risk after quality checks uncovered faulty test strips.
Anybody using Accu-Check Aviva and Accu-Check Performa strips are being urged to check the lot numbers of their packs, as over 260,000 boxes worth are believed to be defective.
The strips can give both higher or lower readings than the true reading, and users would find it difficult to detect this.
Inaccurate readings could lead to unsuspecting users over or under-dosing on insulin, with potentially life-threatening consequences.
