DSE stands for display screen equipment and we refer to this where we are looking at the risks of working with any type of display screen equipment from a computer to a mobile phone.
The HSE on their website under DSE state:
As an employer, you must protect your workers from the health risks of working with display screen equipment, such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 apply to workers who useDisplay Screen Equipment daily, for an hour or more at a time. We describe these workers as ‘DSE users’. The regulations don’t apply to workers who useDisplay Screen Equipment infrequently or only use it for a short time.
